I wish I could work on VC every day, but I'm so busy with my job at the moment..
Here's a list of the most important stuff I want to implement (out of hundreds of ideas ):
Community Platform: serverlist, account system, profile, chatlobby, friends & clans, matchmaking, rankings etc. Anticheat: server/clientside detections, mod support, players can request 1st person view + screens of other players, backed by player tags and advanced spectator Player Tags: Newcomer (option for servers to block them for some time), Suspicious (indicator only), Cheater (can only join cheater servers), Auto/Manual detections etc. Advanced Spectator: 1st person view, flythrough cam, bullet highlights, serverside replay Serverside Replay: players/spectators can request serverside replay recording (including 1st person view and/or screens) which can then be viewed/downloaded by everyone Mod Support: automatic download, maps/mods loaded only when joining server (reduces conflicts), management (load order, conflict check) Server Remote Control/Management Serverpools: share hardware resources other players can acquire for some time (to gain admin access to otherwise empty servers) New Ingame Elements: voting system, chat, playerlist, spectator control etc. New Script Engine: using AngelScript, many new functions, RPC/networking, server scripts (looping/triggers) to control behavior (scheduling, settings, coop rules etc.) and communicate with map scripts (respawn times etc.) Teamspeak Plugin: 3D sound, like the ingame voice Tools: CBF (pack/unpack/browse, more info), activator (windowed game is still updated if lost focus, useful for testing), decrypt dat etc.
And many other new features and bug fixes, including those from VCStarter/VCGuard

Check back here frequently, I will inform you about what's going on with the remaining part of the project.
Clean up & refine a bit, create a solid installer and updater, and a "VCGuard Hub Edition" or such, which will be for now because a server manager with remote control etc. is much more complex.

I have to admit that I, again, wrongly estimated the work that's still left..
Do you know about the Pareto principle? It's like:
80% of the work are done in 20% of the time, and the remaining 20% of the work are done in 80% of the time.
I think this really applies..
Also, to ensure a smooth launch, I decided to add a few more features (regarding security and reliability).
I decided to share the master server with trusted people, so in case I won't be able to run the service anymore, players would switch to the "next best" master server automatically if mine goes offline for a specific time.
This adds additional complexity of course, but at the moment it's going quite well and I want to release it soon for sure!
I would like to come up with better news, but the project is delayed for an indefinite period.
For myself it's good news though, because I got hired by a small company and am finally starting to earn some money.
(Actually I wish there was something better than money, but to survive without it, one has to be really radical, right?)
The project is not cancelled and I absolutely don't intend to do that.
I hope you're still looking forward to it. I feel bad to let everyone wait for so long...

My boss needs me now for his (quite large) project, at least he set a release date (12.10).
But I'm sure I'll have some time by then.
As soon as I continue, I also want to give you regular (weekly or so) updates about the progress!
I also want to finish my map "DumpDustV2.0" with a special game mode (my first try with scripting, I think it will be fun).
I would like to post some suggestion.. there is flying camera when some vc kills player in singleplayer.. we can see which vc and where is..
is it possible to make this feature in multiplayer too? something like kill camera.. so every player can see by who and where was killed while waiting to respawn.. it should be another one step to detect wallhacker .. turnable on or off option as like highlighted bullets in spectator mode for example?
and spectator in first person view mode would be really cool !
oh yes, another thing: when spectating, camera doesnt make turn when player makes turn... we have to make movement by mouse, but it would be better same as spectating other player in atg mode when waiting for next round.

I definitly agree with that, also the stats info known from quickfight would be cool to have on Screen at the end of a map......

so what about a possibility to look him through enemy camera for some seconds -- or when waiting for respawn, first view will be "that killer" for a while

PS: there is some game.dll on internet which allows record replay - no need to be a spectator, no need to set spectators on server - just rpstart command and playing as a normal player in same time. I think it is for another version of game, because there is some error during initializing... I can upload it for study, could be usuful have this feature in vc hub

My idea is to "request" 1st person view of a player, and the player can either agree and let you see or block the request (which may increase the count of a tag/token of his user account (like "blocked spectating request" +1) others could see, so that this wouldn't be without consequences).

I'm not sure if a player gets enough information of all players, but my idea is a serverside replay (which players may request & download afterwards). This could include 1st person data of every player too, and/or random screenshots.
wow your ideas are much better, so nevermind "movement by mouse when spectating" --- it is needlessly now because your ideas can perfectly analyze gameplay.... is there some full feature list of vc-hub to see what we can expect?
what about custom mods? for example I have weapons soundpack, will be this allowed in vc-hub? (hradba detects custom mods as a cheat)
