Offline Newbie Posts: 7 Joined: 18.10.13 Warnings:	I have run vietcong a while with no problems on windows 8. After a time it became worse. Don't remember player name, maps redownload required en finally de player screen (where you can customize the player) crashed. Now I want to reinstall everything. I want to know what your experience is with windows 8. Someone has already experience with windows 8.1? All comments are welcome thanks in advance

Offline Senior Member Posts: 451 Joined: 16.03.11 Gender: male Warnings:	I tried with win8.1 (but virtual machine) and it asked to install the required DirectPlay, but after that I could play without problems. Try with VCStarter v1.5.1 which can be found here. It fixes the player name bug and changes direct3d 8 to 9 which may improve performance/compatibility. Also be sure to use the latest graphics drivers or those which also work with other games.
