Windows 11 DED Server issues (Using VCGuard) (NOW FIXED)
The General
I have been running a Veitcong Virtual Machine DED server for years, prob since 2012-13, I've managed to get them all to work right from Windows XP through to Windows 10 (which still runs fine). Thanks to the sale VMWare to Broadcom and destroying thousands of home labs fun, I have had to move over my Win 10 ESXi Dedicated server to Proxmox as a VM host and all things considered it was a very straight forward virtually painless switch with only a few minor niggles. While in this switching mood I though it would be a good time to update the server over to a Windows 11 Pro VM to keep things flowing nicely for a few years and here we have a problem.

Initially for simplicity I copied the Vietcong folder from my Windows 10 VM to the newly created Windows 11 VM. I did all the "post install" stuff, Host file, Etc. I ran VCDED and..... nothing! All i had was the little blue "I'm doing something" rotating circle, then nothing. no errors, no screens, no nothing, just like i haven't launched it.

I then thought it might be a Virtual Machine issue, so i went to run VCDED on my Win 11 laptop and guess what, It worked! Initially I thought that it was a VM issue, but then i thought about the fact that i have no VCGuard on the laptop and I'm using the original server system not the nice VCGuard server window. The next test was to remove my initial install of VC on my Win11 VM and put on a version without VCGuard. A soon as i had done this the standard server screen appeared and i can get it running and visible on the server list online.

The bottom line is i think that VCGuard is "suspect" with Windows 11. Has anyone else found this issue? has anyone else found a work-a-round? Has anyone else got it working? Also can we get hold of the programmer i think he was called (Brchi) to gain some advice and/or maybe an update?

THIS ISSUE IS FIXED, PASSWORD WAS SET IN SERVER INITIATION SCREEN. THE SERVER WILL NOT BOOT IF PASSWORD IS SET IN THIS SCREEN......... SCHOOLBOY ERROR!
