Import of BES to 3DS MAX

Can somebody help me with this task? I want to make some small modifications on some objects and I heard about some plugin for VC2 which can be used for import BES files from VC1. I didn't work with 3DS last few years, so I need your advice...

- Which version of #DS should I have?
- Where I can download this plugin?
- How to install it?

I was going to ask this question as well very soon
so I am glad someone else asked.

After importing the plugin files I notice a new screen on starting of 3DS v8
asking for Paths. Can I point the paths to vc1 Engine file, Engine, Scenes, Textures!
or must it point to vc2 paths?

The first screen that opens already has the Engine File
[pten.exe] filled in on startup which is for VC2; but can be changed.

If must point to vc2 paths will this work with vc1 bes as well?
Is there a readme file on how to setup and import?

I'm good, did like you said and alls good.
only interested in VC1, VC2 is a waist of space

Windows 7 Error with 3ds addon
Class<BES Export> from exportutility.dlu has duplicate class

Class<MAx Export> from maxexport.dlu has duplicate class

Can't locate file \dev\engine\ini\phy_sounds.csv 4 times this error shows on starting 3ds

Shaders list doesn't exist or can't be granted.
It may cause ploblems with pteroLayer material.
NOTE: Used Basic (Simple) shader only!

Do i wary about the errors or not?

these errors only after this plugin was added,

other 2 errors not included in this list are from beginning because of windows 7 which I don't wary about as everything still works.

So should I do something to correct errors or it is just the way it is with windows 7?

Ok thanks LDC, I found by after using this plugin for 3dsmax 7 and then re-extract plugins for 3dsmax 8 back again, my errors are gone and i am back to just the other 2 because of windows 7.
so far looks good. but i don't use 3ds like you do so I cant tell you if i did the right thing or not, all i can say is it fixed my errors
