Let me help you out of your dream ) you did not create a new map but you modified a pterodon map there is a difference you know
I did this also one time about 9 years ago with Arroyo but only because it had not coop mode .
Now make your own custom map and i guess we will welcome that and gonna try it out .
Dont get me wrong here its cool that you are freaking about in the editor but after more than 10 years of VC i cant see NVA, Halong or any other standard pterodon maps anymore i dont care how good it is .but that is my personal opinion.
And you made the map in one day ? ... lol
I don't like this either. Not only because it's too simple and the blurry textures of scaled default objects look really bad but also because we need great jungle maps!
Dude... that one is crappy! No offense, but Vietcong deserves better! Missing and blurry textures all over the map...
It cannot be meant for serious playing, maybe for fun with some friends.
Halong Port is one of the most abused platforms for new maps. Halong V1.7 and Halong V1.9 (not the "-V-1.9" version) are the only maps I thought worthy improvements on the old HalongPort.
This V1.4 by Tom is I think worth a try, however. (Can't be any worse than MountainColumn. yuck!)
He added complexity without making it cluttered - at least not much added clutter.
He added to size and linearity by simply putting the US flag way out on the big dock.
(I would have moved the VC flag too, atop the high open platform in the VC rear. That would still leave the cave and building interior as an inviting path of attack.)
The big tower platform out in the water was a risky addition, a potential dead-end. But I think it will see action as advantageous high ground.
His NvaBaseV1.3 and BaharanVillaheBETA may be more problematic.
This new version of Bhanar may be worth a try. But it is like so many other maps with similar terrain, Bhanar-based or otherwise.
I might have added some structures also to the hillside approach from the US right.
I've always been a little baffled by that big open hillside on the other side of the stream, way downstream from the VC base.
I had an idea of putting one end of a longtunnel there, with some surrounding huts or ruins. Put the other end in that open area in the deep U.S. left.
NvaBaseV1.3 is interesting, but has the feel of a LazerTag playground. The expansion here adds size and complexity, but dilutes the linearity.
But who knows? Maybe worth a try too.
There have been quite a few modified NVAbase maps. Most of them just have a cluttered feel, without feeling new.
