Guys, perhaps one of you can help me out here. Since yesterday, without any apparent reason, everytime i try to launch vc1 i see 2 seconds of black screen with the usual progress bar you get when loading a map before the game shuts down. Updated drivers for sound and graphics, nothing changed. Downloaded newest directx, no reaction. Beginning to wonder what changed status quo is the first place, never had any problems on this laptop before. All other games work, btw.
Sorry to read that...
Hmmm, could it be your Antivirus that closes down the game, thinking it's a "bad program"? I suggest you to add Vietcong in the "exceptions list" anyway!
Have a look in the forum because you may find other suggestions too...
You should also tell us what is your Operating System.
Addition to the exception list didnt change a thing, unfortunately. There are few hits on google for similar patterns, but none could really help me.
My system:
Dell Studio XPS 1430
-Intel Core2 Duo Processor P8600
-NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G
-4096 MB DDR3-RAM
-Vista Home Premium 32bit
I dont use this laptop a lot, but never had any problems when using it on travels :/ No noticeable updates or hardware changes that could be held responsible.
I can offer you a www.teamviewer.com session. I'm sure we can find a solution.
Maybe your gamefiles messed up somehow, also try to start with disabled sound in the VC setup window.
Did you checked your maps folder, too?Maybe you have too many maps.
Try to remove some maps (4-5+) that you don't play that often in other folder, not in maps, and than try to launch game.
Just a suggestion.....
Well, Brchi, what a call. I disabled sound and voila, it works . Then updated sound drivers(again), restarted the laptop and vc is running as smoothly as ever. For whatever reason it didnt work before, it does now...
