Some of you may already know there has been an idea for a Real COOP Tournament.
This would be an opportunity for the performance of a team to measure much higher than the talents of individual players. Teams would be scoring high for cooperative teamwork in a Real Coop style.
Teams would need to play all maps between the start and end dates of the tournament season. Teams could play maps whenever they want but would need evidence such as spectator replay files.
If you are interested in playing with a few friends or online buddies in some Coop maps for points, visit the website, register an account and find out more. To ensure there will be enough teams, you can be a member of 3 teams in total (including a team you create).
Note: details of maps, rules, server settings etc are not all decided yet. We just want to know if enough players are interested before we launch this tournament.
Of course I am in. I heard a legends about old-style real coop players from several clans... are these just rumors? Stories which players are telling to young rambos of these days? Or were these stories based on the truth? Let the best win!
What? Dead?! Again...!?! lol
As I'm used to say, Vietcong only died for those who stopped playing it...
Personally, I'm still planning to edit and update the original maps (my VC_ and FA_ edits) and I still have many ideas for real custom maps also, so...
Edit:
This last Sunday (24/01/21) around 21h00 (European Time), I counted 88 players having fun on the servers... Not bad for a "dead game", isn't it?
Intruder is an old boonies timer. He is still hiding out in his own little foxhole, ringed with claymores - somewhere near Nui Pek. Strange how things come full circle!? Interesting to hear that our exploits have now become 'legend' today. I never quite understood how Vietcong could be played in any other way. REAL coop was (and still is) the most satisfying way to play.
Might take a look at the tourny thing. Int... you think Duck, Strudders et al will be up for it?

Personally, I probably won't have the time to participate and because I don't play that often (around once a week), I usually play to chill out mainly...
Strudders needs a new pc first (if I'm not wrong) and for the others, I don't know yet.
