I was vote kicked from a server a few nights ago - not because I was team killing, or cheating or being an asshole. I was vote kicked for having a high ping. I joined the server cause I knew this server had no high ping kick so I hoped players on the server would understand....
It's hard as an Australian VC player... not a lot of other people playing in Australia so only high pings. When I make a server, mostly high ping players come. I don't care. I just want to play the game.
So, if you are reading this and you are in the area of Australia and also want to play VC but are only seeing high ping servers... maybe its time we talked together about playing on a low ping server? Let's make something happen.
Who started the vote btw? Was it really because of the ping? There are some players who are votekicking everyone just for "fun". But they are banned on most of the servers AFAIK. There is one player (420Ninjutsu) from Japan who plays VC from time to time I believe, maybe he can tell us about his experience with server as a highpinger
I don't want to give names cause that wasn't the intention of this topic. But it was definitely because of my ping.
There was two guys with clan tags,
1st guy: "Martyr of mith, you ping is too bad"
2nd guy: "minh shit ping".
Then the 2nd guy started a vote. Everyone on the server voted yes. It's a shame but I understand why.
Anyway, if anyone knows any players from my area, please tell them to reply on this thread. There used to be three Australian clans a few years back. Maybe we can get enough players to have a nice low ping game sometime.
@GONZO
- first, dude I love your map G_Pueblo i COOP ...sweet! Thank you.
I hear what you say but I have made non dedicated servers a few times now and I haven't seen any players with a ping less than 350 which tells me no one from this area or even West coast USA. I always try this at times of day when local player are likely to want to play eg evenings and weekends.
I think maybe I should reach out more to try to find local players through youtube and elsewhere to promote the idea of regular games maybe. I mean I should perhaps build more interest (and hopefully a demand) before setting up something permanent.
