Hi all. Anyone could tell me if Vietcong game would work with any of these operating systems: Windows 7, Windows 8 or Linux ubuntu?
If anyone has any of these OS and can tell me, would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Have it tested years ago with Ubuntu, SuSe, with Wine and installed Vietcong am until the menu came, Single Player, Multiplayer crashed.
Wanted to try it again with Slackware, if goes, dan had any more time with this version and Wine, unfortunately the last few months.
Had NEN hard drive crash, there was everything Linux, SuSe, etc. it could no longer rely darrauf, all clacked only pity.
If time had, Slackware version have here, but you must also say that you need a lot of experience with this, years ago was not easy to install graphics card drivers, etc..
The Slackware version is the most stable and there is some running with.
Also have years ago already CSS and COD gezoggt with SuSe, ran knotless.
In Wine A lot has happened in a matter Directx D3D8 / 9 and ddraw etc. ...
Good to know that someone else also tried running VC under Wine, Kangeruh.
I also managed to run the game's menu, including the server-list, but I wasn't able to get into the game itself. Wine's treatment of DirectX is probably not that good.
Also, I was able to run a dedicated server, via wine vcded.exe, it really showed up in the server-list, but I didn't have an access to the control window and it was quite CPU consuming.
